Dry Hair dont care? Not Really. Home remedies for amazing looking hair throughout the winter months!

Home Remedies for Dry Winter Hair!

Coming from a family where hair, skin and the way you dress is really important you always tend to find ways to compromise when you don't have time or even mula to buy those expensive skin, hair and fashion products! Looking your best (although not a life and death situation), always makes a person feel amazing!  So for the next few posts I will be talking about Beauty, Hair and Fashion remedies that you can all concoct at home. For this pose lets talk about hair. For me I LOVE my hair and I always want it to look and feel healthy and shiny with LOTS of volume.

So if you have DRY DRY hair like I do, because I'm a color junkie and I love to experiment and color then these two remedies are for you.
Turn your hair from this

to this

Avocado & Mayonnaise Conditioner

Give your hair deep hydration with this deeply nourishing treatment.
Recipe is as follows:
  1. Mix 4 tbsp mayonnaise, half an avocado, and 2 egg yolks into a bowl.
  2. Beat with a fork until the mixture is of a smooth and thick consistency
  3. Smooth the mixture onto your hair from root to tip, paying special attention to any split ends
  4. Cover your hair in a plastic shower cap (or any plastic wrap) and cover with a hot towel
  5. Leave on for 25 minutes then rinse out thoroughly with warm water
Honey Egg Hydrating Mask
  1. Mix half a cup of honey with one egg yolk
  2. Massage into hair and let sit for 30 minutes
  3. Rinse and wash hair as normal
The egg yolk helps replenish any lost keratin from the hair, and honey works at locking in moisture. Repeat the masque once a month for gorgeously hydrated locks

Volume something I love with my hair!

Banana and Egg Mask
Massage in this rich mask to bring life back to your hair
  1. Mash 1 banana, 1/2 avocado and 1 egg in a small bowl
  2. Add in 2tbsp honey, and 3 tbsp olive oil
  3. Apply to hair from roots to tips
  4. Leave in for 30 minutes then rinse out and follow normal washing process
Use this mask twice a month for gorgeous hair with volume!

These at home remedies are sure to cure those winter hair blues! Here's to shiny, healthy and voluminous hair!!!

Cape Cape Cape.....Fall/Winter 2014 Designer Trend

Hi ladies! Fall and Winter is rapidly approaching...There are a number of trends that a fashion forward woman like yourself should follow.

Looking chic and feeling beautiful is essential to ones well being, when you look good you feel good period!

With that said there is one fall winter trend that can be carried over to the spring season as well. The Cape Trend. Many designers featured their own version of the cape during fashion week for the Fall Winter and Spring Summer seasons as well.

The House of Sadia was one of them! Our latest designer collection for Spring/Summer 2015 was featured during +Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City! Our version of the cape is so versatile that it can be worn with a gorgeous pair of boots leggings and sweater dress or pictured here with a nice pair of high heels, some lace shorts and a cami for the spring summer season. The cape is great because it can be customized to your personal style. Here are some visuals for your eyes.

Worst Dress at the Golden Globes 2014

So I posted about best dressed lets talk about the WORST dressed! There were many culprits at the awards but here are the 3 worst dressed!!

Now I usually LOVE +Christian Dior  But my god what happened with Jennifer Lawrence's Dress? The fabric was just unflattering bunching up every time she walked. It was definitely camera worthy but not realistic at all!

Another, mishap Zooey Deschanel in Oscar De La Renta! Gorgeous girl but her outfit was all wrong. She is not 18 years anymore. She needs to dress like a grownup!

Lastly, Julie Bowen. I'm a fan of +Carolina Herrera but designers do have mess ups from time to time. She has such an amazing and sporty figure she needs to wear dresses that help enhance her curves and not her shoulders! Im not a fan of large shoulders, reminds me of football season  Those shoulder pads are a BIG NO NO!!!

What are your worst dressed picks?

Spring 2014 Fashion Trends

Every year brings about new fashions and fashion trends. I mean which ones do you really follow? Does a person adopt all fashion trends or do you pick and choose the one's that can easily adapt to your already established wardrobe?

Rule of thumb is to follow fashion trends that will easily blend into your wardrobe so that you don't have empty out your pockets to look fashionable.

Trend #1 for the Spring is Lace. This trend can easily be incorporated into your wardrobe. Check out a few inspirations. From left to right House of Sadia , Vera Wang, Carolina Herrera, +Burberry+Monique Lhuillier. As you can also see the Long Jacket trend is very apparent in all these looks.

Trend #2 for the Spring is Menswear inspired high-waisted pants. You no longer have to raid your boyfriends’ wardrobe as SS14 took cues from the boys to create stylish menswear inspired creations. This sophisticated trend is perfect for a corporate environment as well as an evening out. A word of advice if your having a hard time keeping up with your crunches keep your high-waisted pants in the darker tones to give yourself an illusion of tight silhouette. From left to right: House of Sadia+3.1 Phillip Lim+Michael Kors.

Trend #3: Chiffon. This trend is perfect for the spring and summer of 2014. Chiffon is best known as a light weight fabric that slims and flatters any silhouette. From left to right: Jasper Conran, House of Sadia, and Oscar De La Renta.

All these trends are perfect for Spring 2014 and can easily be incorporated into your wardrobe. So shop on ladies and build a closet of your dreams.

As per usual all of the House of Sadia pieces can be purchased at the House of Sadia retail website.

HemLines!

Hemlines and Inches. As most of you have probably noticed, on the runway this fall the hemlines have increased a couple of inches. I mean look at Dior's Winter/ Autumn Collection 2013.  The Hemlines are way past the indecent length. Leaving more to the imagination. The way it should be.

Althought deemed the bottom of your skirt a Hemline is very important in terms of the perception of your fashion statement. I must say this hemline is my favorite. So elegant and classy. And I love black, the color is here to stay!

Now certain hemlines go well with certain body types. It has a huge impact on whether or not that skirt will flatter you. The right hemline can make your legs look long and slender, but the wrong hemline can make you look stout or dowdy.

For instance a Mini-Skirt- Mini skirts of course show more skin, creating the illusion of a longer leg. If you have a height of 5'4" (about 163 centimeters) or less, a mini-skirt will work wonders for your length.

If your 5'4 or less avoid midi or maxi skirts.  Longer skirts can have to much fabric which can overwhelm your lower half, making you look short and frumpy. If you do opt for a longer skirt, go for a fitted style that hugs your legs.Try a knee length Skirt if your have wide hips and thighs.

Play with long skirts if you are tall. Long skirts can look elegant on taller women, since the extra fabric compliments their figure rather than overwhelming it. Stick with a hemline that stops just above your ankles. Showing the thinnest part of your ankles keeps your legs looking lean and slender.

Skirts are a huge trend this season so make sure you wear the right type for you body and size!

The skirts and dresses that I have designed for my House of Sadia Collection are in trend with this seasons hemlines! Check out the Sydney Dress and the amazing hemline!! This dress can be worn both ways with the zipper in front as well giving it a more night time look.  LOVE THE SYDNEY DRESS!

Here is a model wearing the Sydney Dress for Jersey City Fashion Week and Atlantic City Fashion Week.

The Elaine Skirt is one of my favorites. This skirt is designed to keep curves in mind! The upper part of this Skirt has boning to keep everything fitted and kept in to give a nice muffin top free silhouette! All around the skirt there are cascading pockets to give your hips more of a curve or to hide the unflattering cellulite. The buttons are handmade and the skirt is adorned with handmade dhabka and stone embroidery. And the hemline is appropriate for all body types! and of course can be customized!

Hemlines below the knee are the way to go for me. And these pockets make this a perfect party skirt! How will you look different this holiday season!
